When we print GPS reports from the reporting menu item, we will have two options to select a report frequency: daily or weekly. In this video, we’ll look at the daily frequency and the results that are printed from selecting the daily option. Note that the first item here performance is independent of the frequency and produces output that looks at the performance of the animal consumption. The growth rates the efficient. Series for pre weaning and post weaning periods, and zero to 2, two to four and zero to four month periods.

So this particular report is independent of the frequency. All of the other reports however, depend on the selection of either daily or weekly frequency. So let’s take a look at the ration, energy and protein reports on a specific day. I’ll select the items and click OK. GPS will then ask me the age at which to select for the reports I’ll enter, for example, 49 days. I can then select a printer, I can select a network printer or I can print a PDF which is the choice I will make now. You can select the properties, the orientation portrait or landscape. Or so the advanced options as well. I will go ahead and click OK and then click OK to begin the printing process. now since I have selected the printing the PDF, it’s going to ask me where I want to, print to and I’ll print to my GPS folder within my documents, and I’m going to call this day 49 since that is the day which I selected for this this report.

I’ll enter the day 49 and click save. GPS will then begin printing the output. You can see the number of pages that are printed here and now the printing printout is complete. Here is my documents GPS folder and you’ll see, now we have a PDF file that contains the date 49 output. I’ll double Click to open this and here is the report. The first few pages provide the biographic and default information. The performance statistics for the overall trial. Pre weaning, post weaning and overall growth in efficiency for zero to 2, two to four and four zero to four months. And then we begin looking at the composition on a given day. You’ll note here the intake is for day 49. So, I have the ration composition of the nutrients that are in the diet. For liquids, grains forages, in total. The intake of each of the nutrients that are that are available for each of the components of the diet.

Then I can see the daily energy intake for dry matter intake, gross energy DE ME and the calculation of ME on a rational basis. The energy report, tells me the energy requirements on Day 49, the body weight and the in the M&MP allowable gain. But the net energy and ME requirements for maintenance the intake and the amount available for growth. It also tells me the growth at the target average daily gain in this case. On Day 49, our target average daily gain is 0.61 kilos and the amount required, and the amount either in excess or deficit for growing at .61. The calves actually grew, or ADG at .86 kilos a day. And we have the calculations for net energy and metabolizable energy at that those values as well. Similarly, we have protein intake crude protein MP, RUP microbial protein, and the MP the crude protein ratio at day 49.

Protein composition for each of the of the components of the ration. The report provides the protein requirements on day 49 for both net protein and metabolizable protein. As for the Amy calculations and that’s it, there’s a tremendous amount of information available in these printouts and reports on specific days. Well, that will do it for this video.
