Introduction
The MP Requirement and Supply Chart is located centrally on the science screen. It displays the day of age on the X-axis, ranging from 14 to 112 days, with three series represented. Metabolizable protein intake is shown in squares, while metabolizable protein requirements for gain and maintenance are depicted in various shades of green. In this example, MP intake and requirements range from zero to 500 grams per day. Adjustments to the feeding program result in corresponding changes to calculated MP requirements and supply. For instance, altering the protein concentration of the calf grower from 18% to 22% affects intake levels. However, requirements for gain and maintenance remain relatively stable.
Data Interaction and Usage
All graphs within GPS allow interactive data handling. Left-clicking on the graph enables copying data directly to the clipboard for use in other applications. Alternatively, right-clicking allows copying an image of the chart to the clipboard, facilitating its use across various platforms. This functionality provides a straightforward means to assess whether current feeding practices are sufficient, excessive, or inadequate concerning metabolizable protein during the feeding program.
Practical Application
The MP Requirements and Supply Chart serves as a vital tool for quick assessment. It aids in determining whether adjustments are necessary to align protein intake with animal requirements more effectively. This capability supports informed decision-making in optimizing feeding programs to enhance animal health and performance.
